Best captcha form ever

April 3rd, 2009 | 2 Comments | Posted in General

This one is a really cool captcha validation that I came across in a blog. The site was probably meant for some maths wizards I guess and they wanted to auto disqualify people who didn’t have enough level of maths understanding.

  1. Kris Says:

answer for this is ln(2). he he

  2. Kris Says:

    Explanation:

atan(x) * sin(1/x) goes to zero as x goes to zero. This is because the sine is bounded by 1 in absolute value, and atan(0)=0. Therefore, the answer is ln(2) by continuity of the square root function.
The fact that sin(1/x) does not possess a limit as x approaches 0 is immaterial to this question; it is not necessary to apply the L’Hopital rule.

This was one more cool explanation that i found in this digg url
